Parking lot hit and run, happened sometime in the past 3-4 days. I don’t know where or when, so I can’t even get security footage to figure out who it was. The scratches will probably buff out, but they smacked it hard enough to crack the corner.

I’ve got the (possibly bad) opinion that bumpers getting lightly hit is a fact of life and a few scratches shouldn’t be considered a big deal (note: people should still try to avoid these things, stuff like parallel parking by feel is no good) (also note: I am a 5mph bumper apologist who thinks easily damaged painted bumpers are dumb).

All that said, hitting it hard enough to crack it is in no way acceptable, and probably at that point you should be filing a hit and run report with the police.

My co workers 2016 2500HD. Those running boards are like $500 per. And then there's the door damage too. Yikes. (also a hit and run)

Dash camera, dual channel front and rear. Look up the Viofo A129 Pro Duo, it’s 4k UHD. It’s up for preorders, and I have a test unit. It has functional buffered parking mode, and event impact detection. 

It’s been pretty amazing, even compared to the fuckspensive pixelated Samsungized garbage that is Blackvue. (The only thing that blackvue offers over VIOFO is cloud uploading and push notifications on event detection)

Bumpers should absolutely be able to take a minor shunt without requiring $1000 worth of body work and extended time in the shop. The whole point of them should be to protect the car from damage in low speed hits, not take damage themselves.

Ah, alright.

I was like “Damn, how the F did it take you days to notice that!”, now it makes more sense.

Regardless, it sucks. Sadly the person who did it probably never even noticed they hit it.
